Piece Out World
The official Australian home of Piece Out, the minimalist spatial puzzle where you slide, rotate and flip polyomino pieces into place. No timers, no pressure, just shapes and your brain.
The polyomino matrix
Every piece in Piece Out carries its movement rules printed on its face. Choose a family below to see how it behaves on the board.
Straight-line sliders
Arrows on the face mark the only directions a slider can travel. A piece marked left-right will never move vertically, no matter how open the board looks.
Sliders reward lane planning: park them where they clear corridors, not where they feel convenient.
One-way spinners
Spinners rotate around their centre, most in a single direction. Three taps return them to start, which means a careless spin costs three moves to undo.
Our rotation guide walks through the arcs worth memorising.
Mirror flippers
A tap reflects a mirror piece across its axis, swapping its silhouette instantly. They fit spaces their unflipped twin never could, and they break habits formed on ordinary pieces.
Linked pieces
Linked pieces move in unison even when they never touch. Dragging one drags its partner across the board, which is either the puzzle's answer or its trap.
Six chapters, one long arc
The campaign climbs from single-slide tutorials to multi-mechanic finales. Each chapter introduces one idea, then spends its boards teaching you to distrust it.
Ch. 1–2 · Foundations
Sliding, then rotation. The rules arrive one at a time.
Ch. 3–4 · Complications
Mirror flippers and narrow lanes enter the vocabulary.
Ch. 5–6 · Synthesis
Linked pieces and composite boards that demand full fluency.
Three verbs, endless depth
Piece Out's entire control scheme fits on one hand: slide to move, tap to rotate or flip. The complexity lives in how the pieces combine, not in how you touch the screen.
The same three verbs power a 700-board campaign, a daily puzzle and every pack we ship.
How the rules workSlide to move
Drag a piece along any direction its arrows allow. It travels until you release it or it meets a wall.
Tap to rotate
Rotatable pieces spin 90 degrees around their centre, sweeping an arc that must stay clear of walls and neighbours.
Tap to flip
Mirror pieces reflect across their axis, turning an L into its twin. Subtle, and the source of the game's best surprises.
Undo anything
Every move can be rolled back without limit or penalty. Experimentation is the intended way to play.
Day board, night board
Slide the handle to compare the classic palette with night mode. Same board, same rules, a completely different atmosphere for late sessions.
Classic palette
Warm ivory boards with soft colour coding, tuned for daylight readability.
Night mode
Low-glare inversion that keeps contrast where your eyes need it at midnight.
Colourblind set
A palette tested against common colour-vision deficiencies so every piece stays distinct.
Pick your hangar
The same rules, three ways to play. Campaign for the journey, Daily for the ritual, Endless for the flow state.

One board ritual
A single board shared worldwide each midnight. Streaks, archive access and the quiet satisfaction of keeping the chain alive.

Generated flow
Procedurally assembled boards that keep coming. Not hand-tuned, but perfect when you want the zone without the commitment.
As long as you like
Audio that lowers the heart rate
The soundtrack was composed to sit under your thoughts, not on top of them. Warm pads, soft percussion and piece-snap sounds tuned like tiny wooden blocks.
Sound cues carry information too: a slide, a rotation and a solved board each have their own texture, so your ears learn the game alongside your eyes.

Reserved for the last move home
We wanted the game to feel like handling good stationery: quiet, precise and slightly addictive.
Boards on tap
When the campaign is done and the daily puzzle is solved, Endless keeps the pieces moving. Boards assemble from the same rule set as the authored campaign, so skills transfer in both directions.
- Difficulty drifts upward as your streak grows
- Skip freely: no lives, no penalty, no queue
- Offline friendly for trains, planes and waiting rooms
